Dick`s Drive-Inn in Kaukauna

Just moving to kaukauna area, and this is one of the best semi fast places to get food. The ice cream is really good! The burgers are classic. The staff is ran mostly by a younger group but generally polite and nice. The price is better then you can expect. Overall highly recommend this place to keep going over and over again.

There's a reason they were busy. Good burgers fast in an atmosphere that hearkens back to the golden age of highway travel. Great for those who want an experience from the 60s with food to satisfy the heartiest of appetites.

This is a wonderful hole in the wall. The small shack can only hold about 6 people at a time to place and pick up orders. The food is what you would expect from such a place - simple and enjoyable. There are picnic tables out back for those of you who do not come with your own tailgate.

Love their shakes

Very good value for money, great fish sandwich and 1/2 pounder with bacon. Fries are also very good.

I got cold dry burgers last time there. This is rare, but it angered me.

Burgers are really good but small, ice cream was standard nothing bad, nothing exceptional. The thing that really kicks it down from a 4 is no covers for ice cream cups which are just soda cups anyways and 11 cents if you want a little catch cup for kid cone messes. Not a big deal except when it's busy you're not going back through line to buy cups for the kids. Instead of driving home we sat out back to keep the mess there which was fine on a nice day but on a rainy day a bit of a problem. Anyways just doesn't feel customer centric when you have the little things like that crop up.

The food is consistently fresh and delicious, cashiers gives good service. I love the cleanliness and character. Highly recommended.

This place is a great throw-back to a time when you could go and get burgers, fries and shakes and not feel like you it's a cattle call to the feeding line at the franchised fast food restaurants. The fries are especially great! For a single, non-franchised business the prices are impressive and you get what you pay for. The only down side is they close for the winter. But for 9 months out of the year, it has become a favorite of our family of 6 after church.

Great food but male cashier need to understand that some customers are new and he need to be a little more friendly when explaining the menu. #new cashier.

A historic city icon. Burgers are okay, nothing special. Ice cream is very good. Service is awful, the kids working there my last few visits were really rude. They just handed me my bag, didnt even say thank you or anything. I noticed this has been a trend everytime I visit. It wasnt always like this. Not a very good representation

Ice cream was good order taker was impatient and didn't give me time to look at the menu the guy holding the door opened was extremely rude and yelled at me to go out the other door when I said you don't have to yell he sweared at me under his breath if you dont like people dont work in customer service wont be coming back I would rather go somewhere with better. customer service

best hamburger place in kaukauna

This place was here when I was a kid. Dick Sternhagen started this place I believe in the late 50's or early 60's. As kids we purchased many a burger or fish sandwich at this place in 1960, 61 ans 62. Great food for the price. Ice cream is the best.

Best walk thu around! Great food and amazing ice cream. Supports small business who hires many students in town.

Phenomenal value for the whole family. Order food first, then come back through to order ice cream. Depending on the day it's fun to see what cars n cycles are out and about.

Best Ice Crean in town.

Solid little burgers, fries, and ice cream shop. There is no indoor seating but there are several picnic tables out back. Guests order inside, pick up their food, and carry it out. Credit cards are accepted. Prices and quality were about what I'd expect for a place like this. My bacon double cheeseburger and fries were tasty. Portion size on the fries seemed slightly light for medium. I also had a medium chocolate shake and this was larger than I expected... So I suppose it all evens out =)If it's a beautiful day and you feel like stopping for a classic burger, fries, and a shake/soft serve ice cream you probably won't be disappointed by Dick's Drive-In.

Classic drive in experience. No more car hops but they make a delicious burger and have some great Americana food.

Normally we love coming here, and tonight was our first visit of the season but tonight was not a good experience. Live 3 minutes away and the food was barely luke-warm. Then I open one of the hamburgers from our family pack and it had a long hair under the bun that was clearly none of ours. Extremely unimpressed.

Holy good burgers! Although I think it's weird that when you ask for "The works" it means special sauce to them and not lettuce pickles and tomatoes. Otherwise great prices, french fries are to die for, and choices are great.

Good food ever since I was a young'in

I'm giving it a 2 today. Normally probably give it a five. I think wearing the mask are starting to give the workers trouble. I should have checked my order before I left. It is takeout only. But today they totally messed up the order and burnt the onion rings. The food that we had still tasted good but the order should not have been messed up. I did not feel like driving back to have them straighten it out. Have a great day and may God bless you!

Expensive for what you get. Overrated. Quality and value used to be much better. Now people seem to enjoy the novelty, not the food.

Summer doesn't begin for me until I get to Dick's Drive-In for a maxi burger and a chocolate malt. Many choices on their menu so the whole family will be satisfied.

Great local establishment for burgers and ice cream! We typically get the family pack and it's more than enough for 4 grown ups. Good value for what you get! The only downfall is sometimes having to wait in line and limited outside seating. However, living in Kaukauna it's not a big deal to order and take it home.

The charm of a 50s burger joint was not a let down. The food itself was exactly what you'd expect, unhealthy and amazing. If you're going to treat yourself and/or the fam to amazing, American comfort food, this is the place to go. Staff was great as well 😁

A Kaukauna staple. If you like blueberries, get the blueberry shake. It's not just flavoring, it has actual blueberry pieces in it. SO GOOD!

Best burgers and malts around. Sad to see them close for the winter! Classic place.
